In-boom furling

A mainsail furling system where the sail rolls up inside the boom itself, creating a compact, self-contained package. The sail is stored inside a hollow boom with an internal spar or luff rope, and deployed by unfurling it as needed. Charter guests encounter this on modern cruising yachts as a convenient alternative to traditional sail handling. In-boom systems reduce deck space and simplify sail management in varying wind conditions, though maintenance access to the boom interior can be more complex than other furling methods.
