Genoa
A Genoa is a large triangular headsail positioned forward of the mast on sailing yachts. Charter guests encounter it when learning about their yacht's sail configuration and rigging. The Genoa overlaps the mast significantly, providing more sail area than a standard jib. On cruising yachts, Genoas are typically fitted with furling systems for easy deployment and stowage, making them practical for short-handed crews.
