Tourist tax

A mandatory daily tax levied by local governments in certain charter destinations, typically charged per person per night. Charter customers encounter this fee when visiting ports, marinas, or anchorages in taxed areas, particularly throughout the Mediterranean. The tax is collected by marinas, ports, or charter bases and added to the final invoice. Rates and applicability vary significantly by destination and accommodation type. Tourist tax is a standard operating cost for international yacht charters and cannot be avoided.
